Moldovan farmers are preparing actions against the lifting of restrictions on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products

Farmers are preparing to protest on October 29 and 30 if the Moldovan parliament does not extend the licensing mechanism for grain and oilseed imports from Ukraine this week.
This was reported by NewsMaker, writes European Pravda.
On Tuesday, October 27, the Farmers’ Power association reported that in some regions of the country, farmers have already determined the places and times for holding actions, including involving agricultural machinery.
Farmers are dissatisfied with the lack of a decision by parliament on extending the licensing mechanism for grain imports from Ukraine. They also expressed concerns that even a temporary lifting of restrictions will lead to an increase in imports of cheaper Ukrainian products and a decrease in prices on the domestic market.
The farmers’ association claims that Ukrainian farmers continue to sell products below cost due to the blocking of the main export route through the Black Sea. As noted, in these conditions, Moldovan farmers demand to maintain licensing in order to prevent a similar drop in prices in the country.
