“During peak months we load 500-650 thousand tons at roads,” – Nibulon

In Nibulon they said that loading in the roadstead is more economically feasible than in ports.

In an interview with the Agroprofi portal, Deputy General Director for Logistics at Nibulon Sergey Kalkutin shared his opinion that Ukrainian ports are one of the most expensive in the world in terms of the cost of a ship call. According to him, this negatively affects the cost of freight.

“The Mykolaiv port is the most expensive in Ukraine due to the need for the ship to pass the BDLC (Bug-Dnieper-Limaskiy Canal) channel. Therefore, loading at roads for buyers is the most economically feasible. We take this component into account and increase the loading on the outer roads, while having significant volumes of grain at the terminals on the Dnipro,” said Sergey Kalkutin.

Also, the deputy director for logistics said that in the peak months at the roads, Nibulon loads 500-650 thousand tons, and transships about 150 thousand tons at its own terminal in Mykolaiv (from the railway and non-self-propelled vessels from the Southern Bug).

“This became possible thanks to the well-coordinated work of the unique floating cranes Saint Nicholas and our flagship – the 140-meter NIBULON MAX. Now the daily volume of possible loading is 20-25 thousand tons,” shared Sergey Kalkutin.

To recap, the search and rescue vessel Alexander Okhrimenko entered the shipyard of Nibulon to repair the main power plant (MPP).
