Ukrainian Navy acquired a naval platform for missile testing

The Naval Forces of Ukraine now have a naval platform for testing anti-ship missiles.

The platform is necessary for placing prototypes of anti-ship missiles “Neptune”, said in an interview with UNIAN the commander-in-chief of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Oleksii Neizhpapa.

“We already have an offshore test platform that will host the first samples of “Neptune”. This is necessary in order to accommodate the future naval version of “Neptune” – said the commander-in-chief, without disclosing any other details about the platform.

“Physically, we have it (the platform – ed.). I think they will see this project next year,” Neizhpapa noted.

As USM reported, in July 2021, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered the development of a naval version of the R-360 rocket of the ZhK-360MTS “Neptune” complex for surface ships of the Ukrainian Navy.

Now ZhK-360MTS “Neptune” is a complex of land-based cruise missiles with an anti-ship missile, designed to destroy warships of the cruiser, destroyer, frigate and corvette classes, as well as landing, tank landing ships and transports, which operate both independently and as part of ship groups and airborne troops and coastal radio-contrast targets, in simple and difficult meteorological conditions at any time of the day or year, with active fire and electronic countermeasures of the enemy.
