Ukraine has imported over 1 million tons of coal since the beginning of the season

Since the beginning of the heating season (October), Ukraine has imported over 1 million tons of coal.

Such data was provided by the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko, Ukrinform reports.

Galushchenko said that in December the Energy Ministry expects to receive 650 thousand tons of coal by sea.

“The balance of coal corresponds to guaranteed reserves and even exceeds at three stations. In general, we see a systemic accumulation of coal in the warehouses of thermal power plants and cogenerations,” the official added.

The only reason for the lack of power supply in some localities is planned or emergency repairs by the operators of the distribution system. According to Galushchenko, now there is no electricity shortage in the country.

We will remind that last week three vessels with coal came to the Ukrainian ports: two – to the port of Chornomorsk, and one – to the port of Pivdennyi. Bulk carriers delivered over 200 thousand tons of coal.
