Freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region are increasing

Freight rates continue to rise in the Azov-Black Sea region.

In particular, according to the results of last week, Black Sea Coaster rose to $44.33/ton, ISM reports.

Azov Sea-River showed growth to $91.35/ton.

The cost of sending 10-12 thousand tons of wheat or corn from the Ukrainian ports of Odesa/Chornomorsk to the Italian ports of Bari/Orton will be $74.5/ton. In comparison, sending 25-30 thousand tons of wheat from Novorossiysk will cost $33/ton.

The cost of sending 5-6 thousand tons of wheat or corn from Reni to Mersin (Turkey) or Beirut (Lebanon) will be $72.5/ton.

Freight rates in the region are increasing, in particular, due to the delays of ships with Ukrainian products in queues in Istanbul. Prices are also affected by the fact that the date of the end of the “grain corridor” from Ukraine is gradually approaching, the future fate of which is currently unknown.
