MBDA introduced a new air defense system for the protection of ships and ports

The leading European manufacturer of Matra missile systems BAE Dynamics Alenia presented a new solution for the protection of ships and ports from drones. The new air defense system was presented at the Euronaval 2022 exhibition in Paris.
The new anti-UAV system is a naval version of the “Sky Warden”. It combines the Mistral 3 air defense missile and the Akeron surface-to-surface missile. The complex uses a modular control system and can be equipped with various sensors, the official representative of the company reports.
Previously, MBDA presented the 5th generation tactical guided missiles “Akeron”. The new missiles are called tactical, they are designed for a wide range of uses, not just against armored targets like anti-tank missiles. Currently, the system of the marine version of the air defense complex is at the stage of research and development.
