Lloyd’s Ascot stops insuring ships with Ukrainian grain

Insurance of ships departing from Ukrainian ports was canceled after the decision of russian federation to withdraw from the grain agreement.

Now the British insurance company Lloyd’s Ascot is waiting for a solution to the situation with russia’s participation in the grain agreement, writes Reuters.

“As of today, we are suspending quotations for new deliveries until we have a better understanding of the situation. The insurance that has already been issued is still valid,” Ascot Head of Freight Chris McGill said. USM previously reported that russia had decided to suspend its participation in the Grain Agreement allegedly because of “an attack on a ship of the Black Sea Fleet.”.
