The EU allocated 1 billion euros for Ukrainian export channels
The EU attracted 1 billion euros to increase the capacity of Ukrainian export channels. The project will be implemented as part of the “Ways of Solidarity” initiative.
“Ways of Solidarity” are important corridors for Ukrainian agricultural exports. Thanks to them, Ukraine has already exported more than 15 million tons of agricultural products, GMK Center writes.
Currently, “Ways of Solidarity” remain the only option for the export of non-agricultural Ukrainian goods. These channels returned more than 15 billion euros of income to Ukrainian farmers and industrial producers. However, these transport routes are already running out of capacity. The EU plans to mobilize significant investments to support them, reports the EU Representation in Ukraine.
In particular, the European Commission will urgently allocate grants worth 250 million euros for the development of “Ways of Solidarity”, and in the medium term – another 50 million euros for expanding their capacity through the Connecting Europe Facility Fund. Also, by the end of 2023, the European Investment Bank will invest another 300 million euros euros into projects that meet the goals of “Ways of Solidarity”.
