Self-propelled barge “Kherson” was repaired at Kilia UDS plant
Repairs of the self-propelled barge “Dmitry Kalinin” (new name “Kherson”) were completed this week at the Kilia Shipbuilding and ship repair plant.
On the ship, the propeller-steering complex was repaired – the wall line, sterns were dismantled and their inspection and repairs were carried out, the propulsion device was completely disassembled, the acting director general of UDS Dmytro Moskalenko said.
Hull work was also carried out on the vessel to replace the outer skin, repair the start-up air cylinders, bottom-loading fittings, cleaning and painting the hull.
Sea trials were conducted in the presence of an inspector of the Shipping Register of Ukraine. Also, the factory checked the operation of the translatable emergency sterns, propulsion device, bow and stern anchor devices. No comments were found.
Currently, the ship is waiting for documents to extend the Register’s class for a six-year term.
