Yachtsmen from Lithuania called on the world to join the restoration of Ukraine
The Lithuanian AmberSail II team took part in The Ocean Race regatta and dedicated their trip to helping Ukraine.
The yachtsmen placed the logo of the United24 fundraising platform on the sides of the yacht, and also called on social networks to join the collection of funds for the restoration of Ukraine, “Army Inform” reports.
“For many people, the war in Ukraine has become a background. But sports should not be just a way to escape from reality. We want to remind the world that today Ukraine needs help to rebuild the destroyed and restore normal life in the country as much as possible,” commented team leader Raimundas Daubaras.
AmberSail II is a team that represents Lithuania at international regattas of the highest rank. The project is headed by the Lithuanian captain of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Rokas Mijavičius. This year, the yacht’s crew consists of eight Lithuanians, two Ukrainian women and a Pole.
