Russian federation is planning new sabotage act in the North Sea
The Netherlands discovered a russian ship that was probably preparing sabotage on the energy infrastructure in the North Sea.
Recently, the military intelligence of the Netherlands discovered a russian vessel in the North Sea that was trying to map energy infrastructure facilities. However, the russians did not succeed, as the ship was escorted by the Dutch Navy, Dutch intelligence chief General Jan Swillens said at a press conference.
It is noted that the russians were interested in wind power plants, underwater cables and gas pipelines in the Dutch part of the North Sea. Intelligence called on operators of maritime infrastructure to strengthen security measures, writes the Financial Times.
Earlier, Germany and Norway annouced plans to turn to NATO for the protection of underwater infrastructure.
