Viterra Limited has officially confirmed its withdrawal from the russian market. The company plans to transfer export operations to russian federation from July 1, 2023.
Viterra Limited has decided not to continue its production and export programs from russia, according to a statement published on the company’s website. As a result of continuous monitoring of the situation last year, Viterra came to the conclusion that its activities in russia no longer correspond to the long-term direction of the company’s activities.
“We are considering options for transferring our business and assets in russia to new owners and will provide additional information when appropriate,” the statement said.
Viterra is part of the Glencore holding. In russian federation, Viterra, jointly with the structure of the VTB Group — Demetra-Holding LLC — owns a specialized grain terminal Taman Grain Terminal Complex LLC. Viterra also owns a grain terminal in the port of Rostov-on-Don.
