A branch was created in the UZ to ensure railway logistics in ports
The branch “Operator of near-port stations” started working at JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
The staff of the “Operator of port stations” branch included employees of the directorate for work with port stations of the regional branch “Odesa Railway” (DN-5), writes Rail.insider.
The branch included the following port stations: Odesa-Port, Chornomorsk-Port, Poromna, Berehova, Izmail, Mykolaiv-Vantazhny, Zhovtneva and Kherson.
As the director of the division, Ivan Yemets, said, the main task of the branch is to ensure railway logistics in ports.
“We will organize the work of feeding/cleaning wagons, develop new services within the branch, optimize costs related to the technological processes of the new branch, and we also hope for a better financial result of the work of our division,” said Ivan Yemets.
As previously reported by USM, UZ recently tested a new intermodal route to the port of Klaipeda.
