A new container terminal has opened in the port of Reni
About 1,500 containers were processed in the month of operation of the new terminal “Viking Alliance” in the port of Reni.
“According to the memorandum of cooperation, we took part in the launch of a unique project for our region – the container terminal “Viking Alliance”. This is the only container terminal in Reni and the only one operating today in Ukraine,” the press service of the Regional Development Agency of the Odesa Region reported.
The company is a partner of the world’s largest transport and logistics holding Maersk, a leader in container transportation.
“Viking Alliance” practices two ship calls per week. About 1,500 containers were processed at the terminal during the month of operation.
Products of Ukrainian farmers are sent for export from the terminal. By connecting with mainline container carriers in Romania’s Constanța and Turkey’s Istanbul, Viking Alliance resumed sea transportation that had been absent since the beginning of the war.
The company also plans to increase the volume of container transportation.
