A russian ship spied on the British Navy
The russians tried to monitor the test of the new naval drones of the British Navy.
The russian ship “Admiral Vladimirsky” approached the shores of Great Britain in the North Sea to monitor the test of new maritime drones of the British Navy, writes the Daily Express.
The vessel allegedly began a research mission on November 10 off the coast of Scotland, where critical underwater energy infrastructure is located.
“In fact, the vessel has the ability to conduct covert underwater reconnaissance. According to sources, “Admiral Vladimirsky” had an even more important mission: monitoring the ships of the Royal Navy. While remaining outside British territorial waters, it deliberately moved to a position off the coast of Montrose, where the British research vessel HMS Enterprise was conducting tests of various experimental autonomous ships. Among them is the new autonomous missile launcher of the Royal Navy,” writes the British publication.
Royal Navy sources said the Russian mission was curtailed by countermeasures that included the deployment of the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth and the frigate HMS Northumberland.
