A tanker bound for Russia was attacked again off the coast of Turkey

A drone attacked the Palau-flagged oil tanker Elbus off the coast of Turkey in the Black Sea.
The attack took place on January 7, Splash 24/7 reports.
The vessel was attacked about 30 miles off the coast of the Turkish district of Abana in the Kastamonu province, as it was heading to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, where it was to load oil.
The attack reportedly damaged the upper part of the tanker. However, no crew members were initially injured.
The vessel is currently anchored off the Turkish town of Inebol — according to AIS, the tanker abruptly changed course and turned towards the Turkish coast after the attack.
Turkish authorities have not issued any official statement, nor have the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which have attacked several tankers working with Russia, claimed responsibility for the attack.
