A tanker from Novorossiysk blocked the Bosphorus Strait

Because of the tanker from Novorossiysk, the Turkish authorities were forced to close the Bosphorus strait for shipping for a while.

Previously, the Sredina tanker had engine malfunctions, due to which traffic on the Bosphorus was stopped in both directions.

After the vessel was towed to Türkeli Demir, navigation on the Bosphorus was resumed.

According to the Turkish Coast Guard, the tanker was allegedly on its way from Romania to Libya. At the same time, according to MarineTraffic data, the previous port of call of the ship was Novorossiysk. Sredina departed from it on 20 August with an expected arrival date of 29 August in Benghazi, Libya.

Previously, USM reported that the port of Novorossiysk was granted the right to conceal its activities.
