The tanker Zapadnyy ran aground at the mouth of Cumbrian Harbor in Silloth, UK.

The incident happened on Saturday, February 10, around 12:00 GMT. This is reported by Fleetmon.

The vessel was raised at high tide about 12 hours after the accident. The tanker is now in the port of Silloth. Divers were sent to the vessel for a thorough inspection of the hull for damage.

This is the second time a ship has run aground in Silloth – the last time was in 2016.

Reference: the tanker was built in 1988. The ship is 78 meters long. The gross tonnage of the vessel is 1896 tons. According to data from open sources, the owner of the vessel is the Ukrainian company Wectra Marine, and the operator is “Veliero Ukraine”. “Zapadnyy” flies under the flag of Belize.
