A third of Ukrainian harvest at risk of spoilage due to attacks on ports, — Vadeful

Delayed deliveries could lead to famine in unstable regions and new refugee flows.
Due to targeted Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports, grain exports have been blocked, and a third of Ukraine’s harvest is at risk of spoilage. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful, Ukrinform reports.
“I also spoke about grain exports, which have been stuck in Ukrainian ports due to targeted Russian attacks. In Ukraine, a third of the harvest is at risk of spoilage. At the same time, the world depends on these exports,” Wadeful said.
According to him, delayed deliveries could have a particularly serious impact on unstable regions.
“If deliveries do not start in the near future, there is a threat of famine. And it is precisely in regions that are already unstable, which could again cause new refugee flows,” the minister warned.
He called it another form of destabilization that Russia is promoting with its “ruthless expansionist aggression.”
The German Foreign Minister recalled that he raised the issue of Russian attacks during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in New York. “I made it clear that we will not tolerate these attacks by Russia and will defend ourselves against any threat to the security of our country,” he said.
The statements come against the backdrop of difficulties with alternative routes. For example, according to Politico, Poland and Romania have refused to significantly expand transit capacity for Ukrainian grain.
Meanwhile, Ukraine plans to increase agricultural exports through German ports.
