A vessel heading to Reni was hit off the coast of Romania: there are injuries

On the night of July 21, the Liberian-flagged gas tanker Gas Lisbon was hit about 20 nautical miles off the Romanian coast.
The ship was sailing from Alexandria, Egypt, to the Ukrainian port of Reni, Romanian President Nicos Dan said on his social media account X.
According to him, the incident occurred about 20 nautical miles off the Romanian coast.
After the hit, two ships of the Romanian Agency for the Rescue of Human Life at Sea went to the scene. They evacuated the entire crew, including three injured crew members.
All sailors were safely brought to shore. A tugboat was also sent to the area of the incident. It is to ensure that the damaged ship does not drift and does not pose an additional threat to the safety of navigation.
The Romanian President said that state institutions are on alert and must establish the circumstances, causes and those responsible for the incident.
According to Dan, the event is most likely “part of the Russian Federation’s illegal aggressive war against Ukraine.”
