An anchor parking lot for agricultural products from Ukraine will be launched in Constanta in March

In March of next year, an additional anchorage for Ukrainian agricultural products is planned to be launched in Constanta.

An agreement on this was reached in Romania at a meeting on increasing the export capacity of Ukrainian ports on the Danube, said the head of the UDS Dmytro Moskalenko.

“We discussed the organization of anchorages with our Romanian colleagues back in September. Currently, thanks to the opening of the Odesa ports, the flow of agricultural products through the Danube has decreased. However, the issue has not lost its relevance. At any moment, the Danube can turn from the “reserve” direction of agricultural export into the main one again,” Moskalenko said.

According to him, in January-February, the Romanian side promises to hold a tender and develop a regulatory framework in order to put the parking lot into operation in March.

“Another important news is the online barge processing queue in Constanta, which should add more predictability to our work. Both decisions have been expected for a long time. An idle barge in Constanta means additional costs for cargo owners and a catastrophic loss of efficiency in the use of the fleet,” the UDS said.

It will be recalled that earlier USM told that the Romanian port of Constanta plays an important role in Ukrainian agricultural exports even after the opening of the maritime corridor.
