Another arrest of Russian yachts – this time in Gibraltar

Gibraltar has detained the superyacht of Russian oligarch Dmitry Pumpyansky.

The government of Gibraltar stated this in a commentary to Reuters.

On February 27, the superyacht left the port of the island of Antigua and crossed the Atlantic Ocean for three weeks.

She later called at the port of Gibraltar, a British Crown Overseas Territory subject to sanctions imposed by the United Kingdom.

There, the yacht was arrested because the owner of the vessel, Dmitry Pumpyansky, the majority shareholder of the Pipe Metallurgical Company, fell under UK sanctions.
