ARMA told about the stage of sale of Medvedchuk’s arrested yacht

Another request has been sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office to begin legalizing the ruling on the Royal Romance yacht, which belonged to Medvedchuk.

This was reported by the Agency for Investigation and Management of  Assets (ARMA).

On Wednesday, January 8, ARMA sent another request to the Prosecutor General’s Office to begin legalizing the ruling of a Ukrainian court in the Republic of Croatia.

“Immediately after receiving the legalized decision by a foreign court, a competition will be announced to select the auction organizer,” the message says.

ARMA emphasized that cooperation with law enforcement agencies is key in such cases, and the proper provision of international legal assistance is exclusively the competence of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“So far, auction houses have expressed interest in participating in such a competition. This means that Ukraine will be able to receive billions of hryvnias from the sale of the resonant asset of Putin’s godfather, and not half the price in the event of its sale as a sanctioned asset,” said the head of ARMA Olena Duma in an interview with Glavkom.

The official also emphasized the cost of the vessel. In 2015, the Royal Romance yacht cost €200 million. Also, before selling Medvedchuk’s yacht, the auction organizer will be obliged to conduct an independent assessment of the asset.
