At the “Kernel” terminal in Chornomorsk, only half of the capacity is working after the attacks of the Russian Federation
After last year’s shelling by the aggressor country, only half of the grain storage containers at Transbalk Terminal are working.
Agroholding “Kernel” currently uses only 50% of the capacity for grain storage at “Transbalk Terminal”. Mykola Miroshnychenko, the director of logistics of the company, stated this in an interview to Latifundist.
This state of affairs is due to the damage caused by the shelling of the Russian Federation last year. Thus, the declared 430 thousand tons of storage decreased to 200-220 thousand tons.
“We are repairing the damage. In the process of analyzing the rubble, we see that it is even possible to improve it. We are resuming also because we have established commercial transshipment and entered a new market for us. For this we need containers. We work with many crops, and without storage we will be out of the market,” Miroshnychenko emphasized.
He emphasized that it is not about creating a new terminal, but about restoring the maximum possible capacities at minimum costs. The strategy of “Kernel” remains unchanged – during the period of martial law, the company does not plan significant investments.
Previously, USM wrote that the attacks of the Russian Federation on the ports of Ukraine in October caused losses of $30-40 million.
