Britain may sell oil from Russia’s “shadow fleet” to finance Ukraine, media report

Britain is considering selling oil from Russian “shadow fleet” tankers to finance Ukraine.
The British government is considering the possibility of using oil seized from Russian “shadow fleet” vessels to finance Ukraine, The Times reports, citing a government source.
According to the options being considered by the government, Britain would not only stop the flow of funds to the Kremlin’s military machine, but also redirect them to Ukraine.
“This would have a double impact on the Russian military machine — we would not only deprive it of its illegal military revenues, but also find a way to help finance Ukraine’s resistance,” the source said.
Earlier, USM reported that Britain was planning to stop the tankers of the “shadow fleet.”
