Construction of the road passing through the port of Giurgiuleşti is almost complete

The final works on the road, which will become part of the M3 highway “Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiuleşti-border with Romania”, have been fully completed.
The installation of the finishing layer of the coating on the bypass of the city of Vulcanesti in Moldova has been completed, reports “Automagistral-Pivden”.
“The contract completion date is February 2026, but the asphalt concrete works have been fully completed. We continue to work on strengthening slopes up to 30 meters long. We are arranging edge drainage trays, installing barrier fencing, road signs. We plan to start applying markings,” the company noted.
The new road will become part of the M3 highway “Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiuleşti-border with Romania” (km+0+000 – km 8+580). The bypass connects newly constructed sections of the M-3 highway, which the company put into operation in 2022-2023.
“The new section will redirect the traffic flow moving to the Danube port of Giurgiuleşti outside the city limits,” the report says.
It should be noted that the construction of the 8.5-kilometer bypass of the city of Vulcanesti is the company’s second major project in Moldova, financed by the EBRD. The project is crucial for the country’s economy, as the new section is part of the M3 Chisinau-Giurgiuleşti highway, which connects the capital with the port on the Danube.
