Crimean ports continue to lose cargo turnover

In the ports of the occupied Crimea, the cargo turnover has decreased by more than 12 times.

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, before the occupation in 2012, the ports of Crimea handled about 11 million tons of cargo. This is without taking into account the data of the Sevastopol seaport, according to the URM edition.

In 2018, according to the data of the Crimean Sea Ports enterprise, the ports of Crimea handled 4 million tons of cargo. In 2020, this figure decreased again and amounted to only 862 thousand tons of cargo.

Also in 2020, the Kerch ferry crossing ceased its activities. This led to losses in the industry over $700 thousand.
