Details of the Russian attack on the ports of Great Odesa have emerged: a ship under the Turkish flag is on fire

The Russians struck the port infrastructure of Odesa and Chornomorsk, damage to equipment and vessels was recorded, one person was injured.

The Russian army used “shaheeds” and ballistic missiles on the territory of the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk. This was reported by the Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.

An employee of a private company was injured in the Odesa port – he is receiving medical care. Among the infrastructure losses – a damaged container transshipment truck.

A ferry under the Turkish flag was damaged in the Black Sea port. There were no initial casualties or injuries. A fire broke out on board one of the vessels. Emergency services localized it and are conducting an inspection of the damage.

By the nature of the targets, the strike is directly aimed at civilian logistics and merchant shipping. Russia is systematically attacking port facilities that ensure the export of food and cargo to world markets – in fact, trying to slow down Ukrainian exports and increase risks for carriers.

An assessment of the condition of the infrastructure and vessels is ongoing. The necessary restoration work has already begun in cooperation with port authorities and emergency services.

“Attacks on civilian ports must receive a clear international response – with increased protection of shipping and pressure on the aggressor country,” Kuleba stressed.
