Dismissal in the UDS: State Labor inspectors did not find any violations

The State Labor Service of Ukraine did not detect any violations of the legislation in the process of reducing the staff of the UDS.

This was reported by the press service of “Ukrainian Danube Shipping”. The company added that the visit was conducted at the request of the shipping trade union.

“Against the background of total reductions in private carriers, the total number of shipping workers has decreased by only a little more than 10% since the beginning of the year and today is 1,417 people, of which almost 700 are representatives of the shipping company,” the UDS added.

The company also noted that more than two-thirds of the laid-off employees have either retired or have been working in foreign companies for a long time and do not maintain contact with the company.

“According to the results of the meeting, the UDS representatives confirmed their readiness for social dialogue with trade unions. The company is ready for consultations on further steps that will allow the shipping industry to reduce costs in the conditions of the crisis of Danube river transportation,” the UDS summarized.
