General cargo ship sank in Taiwan waters


General cargo ship Fu Lin 88 sank in the Taiwan Strait.

According to Fleetmon, the vessel sank on August 19th in the Taiwan Strait, which separates Taiwan from China. The vessel raised the alarm, reporting a flooded engine, tilt and list of the stern.

10 crew members, citizens of Indonesia, left the vessel and boarded the life rafts, awaiting the arrival of help. All seafarers are reported to have been rescued, no casualties. Whether the vessel sank completely, or remains afloat partially under water, is still unknown.
