DTEK imports an additional 80,000 tons of coal from Poland

DTEK Energo has agreed to import an additional 80,000 tons of thermal coal from Poland.

For the stable operation of the TPP, the company agreed to import an additional 80,000 tons of thermal coal from Poland, “DTEK Energo” reported.

Thus, the total volume of fuel contracted by the company increased to 357,000 tons. This will allow the Ukrainian energy system to more reliably pass the winter and the peaks of electricity consumption.

To date, almost 182,000 tons of coal have already been delivered to Ukraine from the entire contracted volume. Deliveries continue regularly.

We will remind you that before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, most of the imported coal was delivered to Ukraine by sea. For example, in January 2022, reserves of thermal coal at TPPs and CHPs in Ukraine exceeded past indicators, mainly thanks to sea deliveries. Then, since the beginning of autumn, DTEK imported 1.2 million tons of coal, of which more than 70% (858 thousand tons) was delivered by ships.
