Egypt allowed unloading of ship with stolen Ukrainian grain

Despite repeated warnings, the ASOMATOS vessel was allowed to unload 26.9 thousand tons of stolen Ukrainian wheat in Abu-Kira.
This is the fourth case of grain laundering by Russia in Egyptian ports since April, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said on the X social network.
The ASOMATOS vessel was allowed to dock and unload, despite the fact that a few days ago the Prosecutor General of Ukraine officially appealed to the Ministry of Justice of Egypt with a request to provide legal assistance regarding this illegal cargo exported by the sanctioned Agro-Fregat through the occupied Crimea, and provided all the necessary data and legal grounds for the arrest of the vessel and its cargo.
“Ukraine is a country that has played the role of a reliable guarantor of Egypt’s food security for many years, and we do not understand why our Egyptian partners are taking revenge on us by continuing to accept stolen Ukrainian grain. In addition, we remind Egypt and all other countries that Ukraine experienced genocide due to famine last century, when Moscow ordered to take grain from our people. Now, when Moscow steals our grain again, it awakens our worst memories,” wrote Sybiha.
The minister called on Egyptian partners to adhere to international law, “their own promises” and the principles of bilateral relations.
“Stolen goods from the occupied territories should be confiscated, not accepted. Looting is not trade, and complicity only fuels further aggression,” the Foreign Minister emphasized.
Earlier, USM reported that an Israeli importer refused stolen Ukrainian grain due to the risk of sanctions.
