EIB allocates €300 million in guarantees to support trade with Ukraine

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is implementing a program of export credit guarantees worth 300 million euros.

This was reported by the “European Truth” with reference to EIB President Nadia Calvino.

The program provides for credit guarantees to support companies trading with Ukraine.

“I would like to inform you that we have signed the first agreements with export credit agencies across the EU. From now on, European companies can contact their national export credit agencies to have access to European guarantees when trading with Ukraine,” Calvino said.

According to her, the program has already received requests for more than 400 million euros, which exceeds the initial budget of 300 million. This indicates high demand from business.

The EIB head also noted that the bank “has reached cruising speed” in implementing projects in Ukraine and continues to actively support the country’s economic stability in times of war.

USM previously reported that the European Commission had adopted a transitional mechanism for trade with Ukraine instead of “trade visa-free regime.”
