Estonia hands over new search and rescue boat to Ukraine


The boat, built in Estonia, was handed over to the state enterprise “Marine Search and Rescue Service”.

On Tuesday, January 28, a ceremony was held to raise the national flag on the new vessel, the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine reported.

Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Maryna Denysiuk emphasized that during the operation of the maritime corridor, the vessels of the maritime search and rescue service traveled 89,992 thousand kilometers.

“Employees of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service conscientiously fulfill their duties to ensure maritime security in extremely difficult conditions of military aggression, in particular when it comes to the Ukrainian humanitarian corridor, as a guarantee of world food security. It is a special honor for me today to participate in this ceremony. This is another step in strengthening our fleet and security on the Black Sea,” said Maryna Denysiuk.

She also emphasized that Ukraine and Estonia will continue to develop cooperation. In particular, we are talking about projects in the maritime industry of Ukraine. Particular attention will be paid to public-private partnership projects. First of all, the Black Sea Port concession.
