After Russia detained a tanker from Estonia in its waters, the country will redirect ships to another route.

Estonia has said it will continue to inspect Russian “shadow fleet” vessels, despite the recent incident with a Russian fighter jet violating Estonian airspace.

The oil tanker Green Admire, which was heading from the Estonian port of Sillamäe to Rotterdam, was detained by Russia in the Baltic Sea. Estonia informed NATO allies about the incident.

The incident with the Jaguar tanker has shown that the Russian military is ready to protect the “shadow fleet.”

Estonian military prevented a possible threat to underwater infrastructure by removing the vessel from a potentially dangerous area.
