EU imposes new sanctions against ships carrying Russian oil


The EU Council announced the expansion of the sanctions lists, adding 41 vessels that are part of the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation.

The EU Council emphasized, that the list includes not only oil tankers.

Some of the vessels were identified as a logistical base for transporting stolen Ukrainian grain and cultural values, as well as transporting military equipment and equipment for the Russian army.

“The EU remains ready to increase pressure on Russia and its shadow fleet, in particular by imposing further sanctions,” the Council noted.

Earlier, USM reported that the US was preparing new sanctions against the “shadow fleet” if Putin rejects the peace agreement.
