EU to impose sanctions against 189 “shadow fleet” vessels, Ursula von der Leyen

The 17th package of EU sanctions against Russia includes restrictions against 189 vessels of the “shadow fleet”.

This was announced by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on the social network X.

“I welcome the agreement on our 17th package of sanctions against Russia. We continue to restrict access to combat technologies. And we have added another 189 vessels of the shadow fleet to the list to block Russian exports of energy,” von der Leyen wrote.

Earlier, USM reported that European ambassadors approved new sanctions against the Russian Federation, the next step is for the EU Council.
