For almost a month, the Russians have been blocking the incoming fleet at the port Pivdennyi
The work of the Grain Initiative has resumed, but Russian representatives in the JCC continue to block the incoming fleet to the most deep-sea port — Pivdennyi.
Thus, on May 19, the JCC inspected 3 vessels headed for loading to the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, the Ministry of Reconstruction reported.
However, Russia unilaterally refused to inspect and register ships at the Port of Pyudennyi and without explaining the reasons.
On May 20, the Russian delegation to the JCC agreed to conduct 7 inspections of the incoming fleet at the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, but conducted only 2. All those declared for the port of Pivdennyi were again deleted by Russia both from the registration list and from the inspection plan.
On May 21, only 4 inspections were planned, but again without ships to the Pivdennyi port.
The aggressor country has been carrying out such a destructive policy for almost a month, since April 29, the ministry noted.
Currently, more than 1.5 million tons of agricultural products for 10 countries of the world, including Africa and Asia, are stored in the Southern port. The products need to be loaded onto 26 ships, but they are still waiting in Turkish territorial waters.
The Southern port was stopped due to a lack of fleet. In fact, Russia does not allow him to participate in the Grain Initiative, which is another gross violation of the signed agreement. Thus, Russia has found a new way to reduce the effectiveness of the Grain Agreement and, accordingly, to reduce exports to the needs of the world. After all, the Pivdennyi port is the largest port in terms of throughput, and its exclusion will significantly affect the decrease in export volumes.
“We hope that the partners in the agreement will find a solution. In the opposite case, we are forced to state that the Grain initiative does not work under the terms of the agreement signed by all parties,” the Ministry of Reconstruction said.
