France will hand over wagons for Ukrainian grain to Austria
The French leasing company Ermewa will hand over 200 of the latest grain wagons to the Austrian Rail Cargo Logistics for the transportation of grain from Ukraine.
New wagons of the Tagnpps model are specially designed for the transportation of agricultural products. Their maximum volume is 95 cubic meters, carrying capacity is 69.7 tons. All carriages will be fitted with GPS units and suitable for Digital Automatic Clutch (DAC), Rail Freight said.
The wagons have certain innovative functions. For example, the roof and hatches have been optimized for better storage of products. In addition, Ermewa wagons have an ergonomic roof opening system. It is located at ground level, so there is no need to climb onto the roof. This eliminates the risk of electric shock or falling.
The first batch of 25 grain trucks for Ukrainian agricultural production was handed over at the end of October, and another 175 will arrive by the end of 2023.
