Great Britain has imposed new sanctions against vessels of the Russian “shadow fleet”

The UK has included in the new sanctions package vessels that Russia uses to circumvent international restrictions and export energy resources.
This was announced by the UK government.
These are vessels that Moscow purchased to form a new “shadow fleet” and preserve revenues from gas exports. Some of them began to be operated only in July 2026.
In total, the new package includes 31 individuals and legal entities, as well as “shadow fleet” vessels.
Separately, London imposed sanctions against eight individuals whom the British government associates with the illegal detention and torture of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories.
Another seven individuals were placed under restrictions due to their participation in Russian propaganda and the militarization of deported Ukrainian children.
Sanctions were also applied to individuals whom the UK accuses of spreading Russian disinformation and working in illegal structures in the occupied territories of Georgia.
