In the first ten days of December, Europe bought a record amount of diesel fuel since 2016 against the backdrop of sanctions that are due to come into force on the russian resource in February, reports Bloomberg.

During this period, the UK and the European Union imported more than 16 million barrels of diesel fuel by sea. Europe buys 1.6 million barrels per day, and 749.3 thousand barrels from russia.
