In October, the railway transported the largest amount of goods since the beginning of the war

During October, 13,584 million tons of cargo were transported by Ukrainian railways in all modes of transportation.
This is a record figure for the period of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, writes Rail.insider with reference to data from the UZ.
As Valery Tkachov, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” noted, the volume of cargo transportation in October exceeded both the figure for September and the figure for the same month last year (by more than 1.5 million tons). Before that, the record figure was June 2023 — 12 million 466 thousand tons.
In total, 120 million 577 thousand tons of cargo were transported in 10 months of the current year. Compared to the same period in 2022, this is approximately 9 million tons less. We will remind you that last year’s indicator takes into account the volumes of the period before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
The largest nomenclature in the structure of transportation is construction materials. So, for 10 months of the current year, almost 24 million 900 thousand tons were transported. A large volume is also shown by grain and milling products. In January-October, 24 million 265 thousand tons of them were transported.
