In the ports of Ukraine, a reduction in the rate of shipments from wagons is expected

Analysts explained that the main reason will be a reduction in the rate of rail transport in the direction of Ukrainian ports.

Ukraine has reached an absolute record in shipments by water transport since March 2022, Spike Brokers analysts reported.

Thus, the total export by water transport in February amounted to 6.4 million tons. Of these, 5.2 million tons were exported through sea ports, and 1.2 million tons through river ports.

“The rate of shipment through the ports is expected to decrease in March. The reduction of balances and the reduction of rates of transportation by rail transport in the direction of the ports are the main reason for this,” the message says.

The average daily number of wagons moving in the direction of Ukrainian Black Sea ports decreased by almost 20%, from 7,140 to 5,800 wagons.

Sea freight rates decreased to $3 per ton depending on the direction.
