Invaders may carry out dredging near the Kerch Bridge

Analysts have spotted a vessel in the Kerch Strait that is likely being used for dredging near occupied Crimea.

For over two weeks, a vessel similar to a Project 805 Neva-3 dredger has been moored near the Kerch Bridge. This type of vessel was built at the “VEB Rosslauer Schiffswerft” shipyard in the GDR in the early 1960s, writes Crimean Wind.

Observers note that it is likely the “Kuban-2” vessel with a home port of Taganrog. There are no similar vessels closer to occupied Crimea, so it could have been diverted for work in the strait.

The vessel is located approximately one kilometer from the Kerch Bridge on the Black Sea side and 500–700 meters from the Kerch coast.

Analysts suggest that the Russians may be carrying out dredging work both in the Kerch Strait itself and in Kamysh-Burunskaya Bay, where the Zaliv plant, which builds warships for the Russian Navy, is located. However, there have been no official reports of such work.

Before this, the Russians deployed a target barge with electronic warfare equipment to protect the Kerch shipyard.
