Israel releases ship with stolen Ukrainian grain

Despite Ukraine’s request to detain a ship carrying grain from the occupied territories, it left the port of Haifa.

Israel did not detain a ship that delivered a shipment of grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to the port of Haifa. This was reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid.

According to him, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar informed his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga that the ship had already left the port, so its detention became impossible.

“He wrote that, unfortunately, it was too late, and the ship had already sailed from the port of Haifa, so it could not be detained,” the report says.

At the same time, according to the journalist, the Israeli side knew about the arrival of this ship at least two weeks before it entered the port. And Ukrainian officials, according to Ravid, informed Israel in advance of Kyiv’s position on the need to confiscate the wheat cargo.
