Izmail and Reni overtook the ports of Great Odesa in terms of grain tanker unloading volumes

The ports of Izmail and Reni are currently unloading an average of 2.4 times more grain wagons than the ports of Great Odesa.
This was reported by the publication “Passenger Transport” with reference to the deputy director of the department of transportation technology and commercial work of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Valery Tkachev.
According to him, as of October 15, an average of 78 grain wagons were unloaded per day in Izmail and Reni during the last week. In the ports of Great Odesa, this figure was only 32 wagons per day.
At that time, 1,269 wagons with grain were heading towards the Danube ports: 575 to Izmail and 694 to Reni. The average daily load in the direction of these ports was 56 wagons.
At the same time, only 80 grain wagons were heading towards the ports of Great Odesa, and the average daily load was about 10 wagons.
Over the week, the number of grain trucks heading to Danube ports decreased by approximately 15% – from 1,501 to 1,269 units. The average unloading decreased from 82 to 78 wagons per day.
In Great Odesa, the pace decreased more significantly: from 42 to 32 grain trucks per day, or almost 24%.
The reorientation of cargo flows is taking place against the backdrop of limited operation of Black Sea ports and the growing role of the Danube and land routes for Ukrainian agricultural exports.
At the same time, the load on western border crossings is increasing. As of October 15, 20,756 wagons were in the queue there, of which 4,422 were grain trucks.
An average of 507 wagons with grain were transferred across the western border daily. Most of them were to Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
USM previously reported that the UCAB is asking the Antimonopoly Committee to examine the practices of Ukrzaliznytsia regarding grain trucks.
