Kernel invests in its own transshipment on the Danube and in Black Sea ports
Kernel is forced to invest in its own transshipment to ensure this process through both the Danube and the Black Sea. In particular, this is connected with the loss of product dispatch points in Mykolaiv.
The CEO of the company, Yevhen Osypov, said this in an interview with Latifundist.
According to him, Kernel plans to build several transshipment complexes for oil. Until now, the company did not have its own oil transshipment facilities.
“This is despite the fact that Kernel’s share in its exports is quite large. With the loss of product dispatch points in Mykolaiv, we are forced to invest in our own transshipment in order to ensure this process both along the Danube and the Black Sea,” said the company’s general director.

So far, two oil transshipment terminals have already been purchased, one of them is in Chornomorsk.
The CEO of Kernel also emphasized that they plan to invest approximately $200 million in the development of the company.
“These are investments in the construction of oil transshipment terminals, in agricultural machinery, in motor vehicles, in the completion of an oil processing plant. Also in the infrastructure of the Danube and some other projects. Perhaps, if we started construction now, we would be more careful in our investments. But we started the projects earlier, so we cannot leave them unfinished,” Yevhen Osypov noted.
As previously reported by USM, Kernel acquired logistics assets in the ports of Chornomorsk and Reni to increase the sustainability of its oilseed processing business.
