Kernel reduced sunflower processing and oil sales

Agricultural holding Kernel reduced sunflower processing in the third quarter. Oil sales also decreased by almost 10%.
This was reported by Latifundist with reference to Kernel’s operating report.
In the third quarter of the 2025 fiscal year, Kernel processed 845 thousand tons of oilseeds — 3% more year-on-year and 9% less than in the previous quarter.
During this period, Kernel processed 694 thousand tons of sunflower seeds. Due to limited availability of seeds on the domestic market, the agroholding also processed 151 thousand tons of soybeans at three plants.
Sales volumes of edible oil in the third quarter of 2025 of the Russian Federation decreased by 9% year-on-year — to 347 thousand tons. In total, for the nine months of the fiscal year, edible oil sales amounted to 1 million tons — 6% less than in the same period last year.
Grain exports at Kernel decreased by 15% compared to the same period last year, and amounted to 1.6 million tons – this is due to the reduction in the harvest in Ukraine. In total, the agricultural holding exported 4.4 million tons of grains and oilseeds in nine months, which corresponds to 12% of the national export volume.
Transshipment through export terminals reached 2.5 million tons – 2% more year-on-year. This volume included 1.8 million tons of grains, 300 thousand tons of edible oil, and the rest was oilseed processing products. In total, the transshipment volume in nine months amounted to 7.3 million tons – 65% more year-on-year. This is explained by the low comparison base in 2024 FY due to the closure of Black Sea ports at the beginning of the season.
Earlier, USM reported that Kernel took first place in the ranking of the country’s largest exporters in 2024.
