The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the licensing conditions for the export of sunflower seeds to Bulgaria.
Ukraine exported a record monthly amount of oil since the beginning of the full-scale war.
The Bulgarian government is currently preparing proposals for the implementation of the licensing procedure for supplies of Ukrainian agricultural products, in particular, sunflowers.
Bulgaria will ban sunflower seed shipments from Ukraine until the end of the year, but generally approves an action plan to control imports.
Since the beginning of the 22/23 season, the export of sunflower seeds from Ukraine amounted to 1.54 million tons.
In 2023, the sown areas of Ukraine will be reoriented from cereals to oil crops.
Despite the reduction in the amount of sunflower processing due to massive shelling, the export of the crop continues to grow.
In just four months, Ukraine supplied more than 85% of all sunflower supplies to the EU. Also, our state remains the main supplier of sunflower processing products to the European market.
The representatives of the oil and fat industry are asking the Ministry of Economy to increase the duty on the export of sunflower seeds to 10% from 3.5%.
