Latvia and Ukraine discussed port security and the situation in the Black Sea, — Neizhpapa

The delegation of deputies of the Seimas of the Republic of Latvia during their visit to the Odessa region also discussed the security of the maritime corridor.
This was reported by the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
The Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine met with the Latvian delegation. During this meeting, the parties discussed a number of important issues, including the situation in the Black Sea, the security of the grain corridor and the protection of Ukrainian ports.
“I am grateful to the Republic of Latvia for its unwavering support for Ukraine. We are strengthening our partnership – we are bringing victory closer,” the Vice Admiral emphasized.
Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Serhiy Kropyva said that they separately emphasized that the Odesa region, like all of Ukraine, needs additional air defense assets.
“Because for every downed missile, there is a saved life, a hospital, a school, a house, a port, a power plant. And we are grateful to our Latvian partners for understanding the criticality of this issue,” the deputy chairman noted.
As previously reported by USM, in May, Ukrainian Special Operation Forces received Latvian Rey catamaran drones for evacuation and cargo delivery.
Also last month, Latvia opened a sea range for testing naval drones.
